Harlech Castle is located in northwest Wales, atop a cliff near the Irish Sea. This piece depicts a lengthy battle in which the castle was placed under siege during the War of the Roses. Over the quick military drum beat, long flowing lines with a Celtic feel provide the soundtrack of the fray. The contrasting sounds within the piece give it an emotional quality.
