The band members of the Lancaster Community Band and Summer Youth Band commissioned this piece to present to their talented and much-loved conductor, Judy Reher.  Her favorite place to vacation was Otter Point, Maine. Consequently, the piece took that name, and the music is as lighthearted as otters playing in the surf.
