Tristyn Bailey was a member of the music program at Patriot Oaks Academy, and tragically lost her life in the spring of 2021.  The band boosters and band director decided to commission a piece in her honor, and the result is Carry On With Pride.  The title is drawn from a poem by Samantha M. Hann, in which part of the poem reads: 

Sometimes I sit and wonder
If you are standing by my side,
Giving me the courage
To carry on with pride.

Tristyn's parents and four siblings have made a commitment do do just that, and this piece hopefully represents her sweetness and determination.

Touching and triumphant, this ode to the perseverance of the human spirit allows developing bands to perform a range of emotional content. From moments of tenderness and nostalgia to power and jubilation, Carry On with Pride, by Robert Sheldon, presents a musical celebration of life in honor of friends we have lost. (3:55)
