This rousing and energetic work is filled with symphonic color and rhythmic playfulness. Numerous solos and duets provide many opportunities for expressive performance, and interesting percussion parts help to provide additional personality and drive.

A "paragon" is someone who is viewed as a model of excellence. In my years as a music educator, I have seen countless music teachers who have provided this model of excellence to their students, encouraging them to be their best. This piece is meant to honor those many wonderful music teachers I have had the privilege to have met over the years.
